In odu Owonrin Osa(95th chapter of ifa), it is revealed that false traits can shrink our divine capacity and blur our connection with our highest selves-Orí. If we don’t take action to subdue it, our reality will be more of unrest(ibi) instead of goodness(ire).
In other words, by embodying false traits, one automatically opens the door to unrest(ibi).
In odu Owonrin Osa, a man named Saginisa often complained about his negative realities. He often laments about his poor health and the struggles of making ends meet. His faith in charm was second to none, but all the charms he relied on were no longer effective.
Saginisa became frustrated and unsure of what to do with his life. This triggered him to consult ifa for guidance on how to change his situation.
Divination was performed, and Owonrin Osa showed up with ‘ayewo iku’ in the process. Ifa told him that he had been embodying a nature that contradicts his divine self, hence the reason why his realities was more of unrest(ibi). He was advised to offer ebo to Esu and venerate his Ori to prevent Ibi from manifesting. Saginisa complied, and thereafter he began to experience a growing sense of peace within himself, and this caused him to enjoy the blessings of Orí with ease.
Dear devotees, it is important to understand that Saginisa performed inner Ori-Work in this odu. He did not stop at material rituals alone.
As devotees, simply performing material offerings and rituals to Ori is not enough. We must be willing to honor Ori with our thoughts and actions. This is a sign of total surrender.
Surrendering to Ori means that one must drop those traits or beliefs that cause unrest, and embody the loving traits of Ori. Because constant expression of false traits or beliefs can cause one to experience ibi as their reality.
The loving traits of Ori produce Peace and harmony.
So when Ifa says that the reality we experience is a direct reflection of the traits that we embody, ifa is simply reminding us that whatever we embody will become our reality.
Just as a goat cannot give birth to a dog, it is equally impossible for someone who truly embodies goodness to experience unrest as their reality.
