In odu Obara Ofun, ifa reminds us that as we navigate through the ups and downs of life, it is important that we purify our state of being, as this would allow the blessings of life to flow towards us easily.
The verse goes thus:
Orunmila said, let Olobara purify his state of being!
I responded, let Olobara stay clean and clear, Bara-mi-Agbonmiregun!
Orunmila said when Olobara’s state of being is clean, when Olobara’s state of being is clear, all round blessings will walk in”
Here ifa is teaching us that certain awareness or state of mind can make us unfit to attract and enjoy the blessings of life, which are actually our birthrights. Therefore we must purify our consciousness by removing beliefs and habits that can block blessings from flowing towards us. This was one of the things Orunmila meant when he said, ‘Tell Olobara to stay clean and clear’
Examples of an unclean state of being:
1. If you are refusing to accept that the blessings of life are your birthrights. (2). If you always feel bad because others are prospering (3). If you try to be in control of when and how your blessings should manifest, then it means that your state of being is unclean. Therefore, attracting the blessings of life would become difficult. Thus says Orunmila!
