IFÁ SAYS: IF YOU HOLD GRUDGES YOU WILL SUFFER
~ iwori Ogbè
What is Suffering?
Suffering is a state of distress. In IFÁ it is called “Ibi inú”, and when you are in this state, you are vulnerable, the ajoguns can penetrate you easily.
Whenever you see yourself holding grudges, it is because you have not yet recognized the divine in You and in others, and you also haven’t mastered how to live above attachments. This is why you are still relating with others through the lense of IRỌ́(falsehood).
Humans embody false nature sometimes, but we must not forget that we are divine beings and it is undivine to help in expanding falsehood. If we hold grudges against others because they hold grudges against us, it means we are also contributing to falsehood, and this is neither who we are nor why we are here.
In Iwori Ogbe(60th chapter of IFÁ), IFÁ declared that,
“FORGIVENESS is the tonic for healthy relationships”.
In this chapter, IFÁ told a story of two friends called Ìwòrì and Ogbè.
Iwori and Ogbè were close friends. These two folks use to work together with love, and they were progressing. One day they had a little misunderstanding and the both of them decided to hold grudges against each other. As a result of this, they started to experience setback in all aspects of their lives. Their business went down, no food, no love, no peace, only bitterness!
So ÌWÒRÌ decided to check with IFÁ to see what was wrong. IFÁ told her that she was holding grudges, hence the Setback. IFÁ advised her to forgive whoever it was so that things could get back to normal.
ÌWÒRÌ heeded to the advise of IFÁ, she went to meet Ogbè and expressed why she was angry at him. Ogbè too expressed why he was angry, and they both settled their dispute.
After everything had been settled, things started to fall into place for the both of them, and they lived peacefully together.
From the above insight IFÁ made it known that when we keep grudges, our spirit will be concealed in darkness, and there will be torment within. When this starts to happen, the spirit of light will not be able to flow through us except we Surrender. No wonder IFÁ says, until we surrender to ORÍ before we can experience total peace- “Ogbè! Surrender in order to experience peace.”~Ogbè Átẹ̀(the 29th chapter of IFÁ).
To hold grudges is a false nature. It will bring distress and it will keep you out of alignment with ORÍ.
Orí does not keep records of wrongs.
