In Ìdí ọ̀sẹ́(The 73rd chapter of IFÁ), Orunmila used himself as example to teach us that: if one do not activate his/her sense of direction, such person will create mess for his/herself This is how many have created mess for themselves and still find it difficult to get out of it.
One of the verses in the above chapter taught us how Orunmila delibrately made Ibanuje(Bitterness) his wife because she was very beautiful on the outside. He knew that she wasn’t the ideal woman for him, but because he couldn’t resist her outward beauty, Orunmila married her. After a while Òrúnmìlà started to experience downfalls of different kinds, he ran to IFÁ for help. IFÁ asked him: Haven’t you been told to stay away from Ibanuje(Bitterness)? Òrúnmìlà replied: Yes, but I married her because of her beauty?. The awo told him to offer Ẹbọ to chase bitterness away so that Goodness can come in. Òrúnmìlà complied. Thereafter he became happy and peaceful.
In life, some are experiencing hardship because they have refused to activate their sense of direction. Not all that glitters is gold.
